WESTERN Bulldogs captain Matthew Boyd has escaped with a reprimand for striking Geelong star Joel Selwood.
But the Dogs will be without boom mature-aged recruit Brett Goodes after the 29-year-old was rubbed out for two matches for rough conduct against Geelong's Josh Caddy.
Goodes collected Caddy in the jaw with his forearm forcing the former Gold Coast midfielder off the ground.
Meanwhile, West Coast captain Darren Glass has been given a two-match ban for rough conduct against Port Adelaide forward Paul Stewart.
Fremantle star Nathan Fyfe has been outed for one match for kicking Richmond's Daniel Jackson.
A number of North Melbourne and Hawthorn players were fined for a melee during the hotly contested clash at the MCG.
Jamie Macmillan was slugged $3000 while defender Scott Thompson is $2100 out of pocket. Aaron Mullett and Ryan Bastinac received $1200 fines.
Hawks Isaac Smith ($1200), Lance Franklin ($1200), Jack Gunston ($1200) and Jordan Lewis ($1200) were also fined.
Boyd was offered a reprimand for swinging his left arm into Selwood late in the third quarter at Etihad Stadium.
The contact dropped Selwood to his knees and he was assisted a short distance to the interchange bench for a breather.
While recovering on the bench, the clearly annoyed Cats' skipper verbally drew attention to the incident in the direction of the nearby umpires' bench.
Video of the incident showed Cat Billie Smedts preparing to kick on the run, with Selwood, only a couple of metres away, but not attempting to shepherd and seemingly unaware of Boyd.
